Good Strategy, Bad Strategy

Good Strategy. Bad Strategy.

“Good Strategy, Bad Strategy.” My absolute favorite of the books on strategy. I only discovered and read it a few years ago. And with every chapter, I wanted to shout out loud: Yes, exactly!

So it’s difficult to name the ONE insight. Hence my highlights:

❌ Bad strategy is a superficial presentation.
✅ Good strategy is detailed, i.e. specific and precise.

❌ Bad strategy is about goal setting and planning.
✅ Good strategy diagnoses the relevant problems and designs realistic solutions.

❌ Bad strategy is vague and fluffy about the execution.
✅ Good strategy makes though choices what to do and what NOT to do.

❌ Bad strategy defines a set of independent measures.
✅ Good strategy derives a plan of coherent actions.

All those principles also apply to data & AI strategies. So it’s a must-read for every data & AI strategist.

A Love Story: Miro+Lovable

I saw it for the first time in New York at Miro’s Canvas 25 conference: a Miro board was instantly turned into an app in Lovable—impressive! Last week, Miro asked me if I would like to test the MCP integration Miro+Lovable myself—as one of ten community members worldwide! Of course, I said yes. In this blog post, I’ll share my journey, my learnings, and, of course, the result: a ski race app. ⛷️
