Plant Your Trees

🪓🎄 Before Christmas, trees are traditionally cut down. At Datentreiber, we have been doing the exact opposite for several years now: we plant trees, or rather, we have trees planted: at Plant-My-Tree. 🪴🌲

Actually, they are your trees: we plant a tree for every training course and workshop. Even though we are already climate-friendly (we usually travel by train whenever possible, or the training course or workshop takes place online), we want to contribute to climate protection for you and for us. So, thank you very much for your orders! 🙏

You can observe the success of reforestation from space. Or rather, the Sentinel 2 Satellite does that for you. The Sentinel satellites are part of the Copernicus Earth observation (EO) program, which is funded by the European Union (EU) and operated by the European Space Agency (ESA). This EO data is freely available under open data governance.

To empower you to easily analyze and visualize the data yourself, Datentreiber has developed the Talk2Earth demo app for ESA: essentially a ChatGPT for Earth. With simple prompting, you can determine the air quality in your location or monitor the construction progress of your buildings. You can even develop your own Earth Intelligence applets, known as Earthlets, without programming, using only natural language. AI agents work in the background and translate your analysis request into Python code.

One example that we ourselves prompted within two hours is the Plant-My-Tree Earthlet. It shows you how successful the reforestation was:

What do you think of the idea? And what ideas do you have for an Earthlet? Let us know in the comments or try it out for yourself:

A Love Story: Miro+Lovable

I saw it for the first time in New York at Miro’s Canvas 25 conference: a Miro board was instantly turned into an app in Lovable—impressive! Last week, Miro asked me if I would like to test the MCP integration Miro+Lovable myself—as one of ten community members worldwide! Of course, I said yes. In this blog post, I’ll share my journey, my learnings, and, of course, the result: a ski race app. ⛷️
